The Australian motocross community is mourning the tragic loss of 30-year-old Joel Evans, who passed away following a crash during the ProMX Championship in South Australia.
Crash at ProMX Championship Ends in Tragedy
Evans was involved in a single-bike accident during the elite MX1 race at Gillman Speedway on Sunday. The severity of the incident required the complete focus of the trackside medical team, leading Motorcycling Australia (MA) to abandon the remainder of the meeting. Despite being rushed to the hospital, MA confirmed on Monday that Evans sadly passed away on Sunday night.

Joel's sister, Renae Evans, shared an emotional tribute, expressing the profound grief her family is enduring.
“What do you say when you have no words? Yesterday our lives changed forever," Renae wrote.
She recalled an intuitive feeling that morning to appreciate life more deeply — a reminder that became devastatingly real later that day.
"Joel was doing what he loved and was in one of the happiest eras of his life, but that doesn’t make saying goodbye any easier," she said. "He used to joke about not wanting to get old, now he never has to.”
Renae also remembered her brother as the best sibling and an incredible uncle to her daughters.
